The restoration of the Dean's Eye Window at Lincoln Cathedral has been boosted by a £50,000 grant.

The money was raised through the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme, with the cathedral being one of nine projects across the county to benefit.

Grants range from £2,5000 to £50,000 with schemes helped ranging from a community centre to a skateboard park.

Work on the Dean's Eye window has been continuing for 16 years and had cost more than £4m.

The community centre at Skillington near Grantham is also getting £50,000.

A skate board project at the Backies in Lincoln is getting £10,000 and at Scotter £5,000 is being spent on modernising the chapel.

The landfill tax, a levy put on rubbish dumped in the ground, is intended to increase recycling rates.
